Huawei Mate 10 : After releasing a teaser video earlier this week of the upcoming Mate 10 smartphone, Huawei on Wednesday posted a new teaser photo of the next flagship that will join the company's lineup of Leica-branded dual camera smartphones. The Mate 10 can be seen alongside the P9, Mate 9, and P10 smartphones, all of which come with dual rear cameras. The teaser also confirms that the Mate 10 will be unveiled on on October 16.

The teaser photo not only confirms that the Mate 10 will sport Leica-branded lenses, but also shows the exact placement of the dual camera setup on the back. Much like the Mate 9, the upcoming Mate 10 will have a vertical setup on the back near the centre. As far as the cameras go, a video teaser posted earlier this week showed images captured by the Mate 10's rear camera highlighting colour contrasts, Bokeh effects, among other things. It also seemed confirm a a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor and a 12-megapixel RGB sensor setup, similar to last year's Mate 9 and P9 smartphones.

Another noteworthy aspect of the teaser is the tagline associated with the Mate 10 - #beyondthegalaxy - which can be seen as a dig on Samsung's recent flagships. Huawei has already teased that the Mate 10 will sport a bezel-less display that it terms as 'EntireView' display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, pitting it against the LG G6, Samsung Galaxy S8, and the upcoming iPhone 8. In fact, Huawei CEO expressed last month that the Mate 10, which is tipped to sport facial recognition, support AR and 3D sensing, will directly compete against Apple's upcoming tenth anniversary iPhone.

The Huawei Mate 10 has also been rumoured to to come with an iris scanning feature, and is expected to be powered by Huawei's anticipated HiSilcon Kirin 970 SoC, which will be based on the 10nm fabrication process. It is expected to sport a 6-inch 1080x2160 pixels display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Huawei will likely tease more features of the Mate 10 as we approach the October 16 launch. The smartphone is expected to be priced around CNY 4,000 (roughly Rs. 38,500).

Xiaomi AXIS New Camera Name Mijia 4K Compact Action Camera With 6-Axis Stabilisation Launched

Xiaomi Camera : Widening its ever increasing portfolio, Xiaomi has now launched Mijia 4K Compact Action Camera aka Mijia 4K Action Camera in China that comes with a rather affordable price tag of CNY 699 (roughly Rs. 6,700). Apart from the ability to record videos in 4K resolution, which is given away by the name itself, the new Mijia camera offers 6-axis stabilisation as well.

The new Mijia 4K Compact Action Camera weighs around 99 grams and measures 29.5x42.7x71.5mm. Notably, the new action camera from Xiaomi packs an Amarella A12S75 processor and offers 3D motion noise reduction, and lens distortion correction functionalities. The camera comes with support for RAW file format as well.

The Mijia 4K Compact Action Camera sports a 2.4-inch display that allows users to watch the videos while shooting them and watching again after the shoot. The new Xiaomi action camera sports a Sony IMX317 camera sensor, coupled with an f/2.8 aperture, 3.2mm focal length, and 145-degrees wide-angle lens. The camera is capable of taking 4K photos and shooting videos in 4K resolution at 30fps and 1080p resolution videos at 60fps.

The 6-axis electronic image stabilisation (EIS) on the Mijia 4K Action Camera is offered by a 3-axis gyroscope in addition to a 3-axis accelerometer system that ensures that the captured videos are steady in nature. There are nine different modes offered by the action camera including, slow motion, timer shooting, delay camera, and high-speed continuous shooting.

The Mijia 4K Compact Action Camera has been claimed to offer a battery life of 2 hours while shooting videos in 4K resolution and 3 hours while shooting videos in 1080p resolution. The new action camera from Xiaomi supports a maximum of 64GB memory card. In terms of connectivity, it offers options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1.

As it happens with most Xiaomi products, the action camera has been launched just in China and whether or not it will be launched in other countries remains to be seen.

Apple's iPhone 8 expected to be launched in second week of September 2017

Apple’s latest offering iPhone 8 is expected to bring in significant improvements and breakthrough features including an OLED bezel-less panel, no home button and a vertical dual camera setup with AR capabilities

Rumours across tech websites claim that iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will all be unveiled at an event in the first or second week of September, most likely between the dates of September 6 to 12.

The new information has been shared by the French website Mac4Ever, which claims it confirmed the news from a few French telecom companies.

Apple will likely host its iPhone 8 event on September 12.

While nothing as yet official from Apple’s end, if this turns out to be true Apple will be starting to roll out the pre-booking orders from September 15 itself, with the phones expected to be made available by September 22, in sync with the Cupertino company’s traditional sales pattern.

A Chinese tipster Geekbar claims that the iPhone 8 will come out in 64 GB, 256 GB options. The base variant of the phone will be seeing double storage from last year, which offered 32 GB at the starting point.

A reason behind the higher base storage could be the iPhone 8's expected AR and 3D sensing features.

A previous report claimed that the iPhone 8 supply chain may have limited editions for sale at first, with around 2 to 4 million supply this quarter, as per predictions from Apple Insider. However, the production is expected to ramp up quickly to 45 million and 50 million this year itself.

Mobile wallet transactions to touch Rs 32 trillion by 2022: Deloitte report

The volume growth is likely to be at a compounded rate of 94 percent, the report said.

The mobile wallet industry is expected to maintain the pace of its current expansion with transaction volume expected to touch 32 billion by 2022 and the value of the same will be Rs 32 trillion, said a report.

Value of the transactions is also expected to reach Rs 32 trillion by 2021, growing at a rate of 126 per cent, said the report by consultancy Deloitte.

The volume growth is likely to be at a compounded rate of 94 percent, it added.

As the penetration of mobile Internet and smartphones aggregate, mobile wallets, with their ease of use and convenience, are expected to continue growing in popularity, the report said.

The report, however, noted that some challenges maybe posed along the way. There could be an inertia in adoption as cash transactions have been the norm for a long time. Also, credit cards form one of the biggest challenges in adoption of wallets, it said.

Further, the report said security breaches and frauds leading to financial losses are big factors in adoption of digital payment technologies. "Therefore, ensuring security of the technology systems is the key."

Android 8.0 Oreo update for Lenovo K8 Note

1. Claimed Efficiency: The Yamaha Fazer 25 has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 43 kmpl. With a 14-litre fuel tank, similar to that of the FZ25, the Fazer 25 gets a total range of 600 kilometres. Not bad for a 250 cc motorcycle, which the company pegs to be oriented towards long distance riding.
2. Differences: We all know that the Fazer 250 shares components and parts with the FZ25. What is the difference though? Well, to answer your question, the Fazer 25 gets a different material for the seat, a two new LED positioning lamps below the headlamp and a new dual-horn. And of course, the fairing itself. It sits at the top of your iTunes library when sorted in alphabetical order, and it makes absolutely no noise for two seconds shy of ten minutes. That gives you a whole lot of buffer time to either pause, or select a new track. If you don't, of course, you know what song is likely to come up next. And beware, since your iPhone tries to play from the last-used music source, so this may not work if the last thing you were listening to was an audiobook or a podcast.

Mezrahi's banger is available on iTunes for the customary $.99, but there's also a free alternative. All you need is your own silent track and the ability to come up with a title for it that will place it at the top of your list. Of course, if you throw Mezrahi a buck for giving you the idea and the song scoots up the charts, maybe Apple will notice the demand for a software update. Or maybe it'll just take its cut of the profit and smile.

Either way, you won't have to listen to that one, unavoidable, road-trip-starting jam anymore. Unless you want to! But at this point, why would you?

You Can Now Buy Microsoft's VR Headset

Long after the release of virtual reality headsets like the HTC Vive & Oculus Rift, Microsoft has finally jumped into the game with its challenger. Microsoft is now selling developer editions of its "mixed reality" headsets built by Acer and HP for $300 and $330.

That price point is a lot more reasonable than the Hololens developer kits which first came out for $3,000, but you'll still have to be a developer to get your hands on one. Also, as of this writing, the HP model is out of stock. Both include a pair of 1,440 x 1,440 displays, a 95-degree field of view, support for 90Hz refresh rates and a single cable that carries both HDMI video and USB data. But of course all that is useless unless you have something to use it for, so it really is a gadget best left to real developers. At least for now.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 look and feel
The Redmi Note 4 follows the Redmi Note 3 closely when it comes to design. The front panel of the Redmi Note 4 is very similar to that of its predecessor, with similar capacitive navigation buttons below the display and slim borders around it. There's also 2.5D curved-edge glass across the front, giving this phone a premium feel. The all-metal phone feels sturdy, and compared to the Redmi Note 3, the rear panel on the Redmi Note 4 is less slippery.

The rear of the Redmi Note 4 is a bit different though, featuring design contours more reminiscent of the Xiaomi Mi 5 (Review). There are fine antenna bands running across the top and bottom. The rear camera, dual-tone LED flash and fingerprint scanner are set up much the same as on the Redmi Note 3. One of the few differences between the two is that this time around Xiaomi has shifted the speaker grilles from the rear to the bottom. The bottom also houses a Micro-USB port for charging and data transfers, while the top packs a 3.5mm audio jack and an infrared (IR) emitter. The power and volume buttons are placed on the right, and can easily be accessed with fingers.



At 8.3mm, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is slimmer than its predecessor, and just one gram heavier. We had no problem using the handset with just one hand. The rounded edges of the Redmi Note 4 actually fit well in palm without causing any discomfort when used for long periods. When it comes to design, the Redmi Note 4 can be considered the best Redmi smartphone so far. It was launched in China in Dark Grey, and Gold, though Grey seems to have been replaced with an exclusive Matte Black option in India. We received a Gold unit for our Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 review.


The 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display has a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels, which works out to a density of 401ppi. Thanks to the full-HD resolution, text and images appear razor sharp. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 display offers punchy colours and decent viewing angles, while sunlight legibility is also great. The screen size makes the Redmi Note 4 well suited to watching videos and movies. You can adjust the colour temperature from the Settings app. A Reading Mode makes the display more comfortable to use while reading.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 launched in India is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (MSM8953) processor clocked at 2GHz with an integrated Adreno 506 GPU. Xiaomi is selling three variants of this model in India: 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage; 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage; and 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The company provided us with a sample of the top end variant for our Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 review.

The handset has a hybrid SIM tray which supports one Nano-SIM and one Micro-SIM or a microSD card. Xiaomi notes that both SIM cards support 3G and 4G networks. The company has definitely taken note of complaints of the Redmi Note 3's 32GB microSD capacity limit. The Redmi Note 4 supports microSD cards of up to 128GB which should be sufficient for most people.



Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has a non-removable 4100mAh battery which is marginally bigger than the 4050mAh one seen on the Redmi Note 3. There's a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF (phase detection autofocus), and a dual-tone LED flash. There is also a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and a fixed-focus lens. Users also get dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, USB OTG, FM radio, GPS/ A-GPS, Miracast, GLONASS, and BeiDou. Much like its predecessor, the Redmi Note 4 also gives NFC connectivity a miss. 4G and VoLTE are supported, and we were happy with call quality.

The Redmi Note 4 runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Xiaomi has added plenty of new features including Now on Tap which was one of the highlights of Android Marshmallow, introduced in 2015. Google's Now on Tap can be triggered within any app just by long-pressing the Home button, and can use what's on screen as context for your searches. MIUI 8 on the Redmi Note 4 looks light and polished compared to previous versions. We were impressed with the system animations, which look refreshing, including a neat one when you uninstall an app.

MIUI 8 comes with a new Gallery app that automatically syncs stored photos on the device with Mi Cloud. Users get 5GB of free cloud storage on signing up for an account. The Gallery app now comes with video editing and sharing features.

The Quick Ball feature, which was first seen on the Xiaomi Mi Max (Review), is available on the Redmi Note 4 as well. This is a hovering button that stays on the screen at all times, including on the lock screen, and lets users define up to five shortcuts for easy access.

With privacy in mind, the Redmi Note 4 offers Dual Apps and Second Space, two of our favourite software features. The Dual Apps feature, as the name suggests, creates two instances of any app on the same smartphone, so you can, for example, use two WhatsApp accounts at the same time. Second Space, on the other hand, lets users separate business and personal data on the same phone. The feature lets users use two entirely separate Google accounts.

Another highlight of the software is scrolling screenshots, which lets users take screenshots of entire Web pages. Xiaomi has also worked on its dialler app which is now light and easy to use. MIUI 8 brings a caller ID feature to the Redmi Note 4, which eliminates the need for third-party apps such as Truecaller. The Messages app has also received some much-needed tweaks in the latest version, such as the ability to bundle similar messages into folders. In our case, texts received from banks, food chains and other services were moved into one folder, which was helpful in prioritising what to check first. The preloaded Themes app offers plenty of options for wallpapers, ringtones, and icons.

Xiaomi has also included a one-handed mode, which basically shrinks the display to one side of the screen and lets users select effective screen sizes - 3.5, 4, and 4.5 inches.



The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has plenty of preloaded apps including Security, Compass, Scanner, Recorder, Feedback, Mi Picks, Mi Community, Mi Remote, Music, Mi Store, Weather, and a default browser. Unfortunately, there is no way to uninstall the preloaded Xiaomi apps. We feel that Xiaomi should reduce the number of preloaded apps on its future devices or at least offer the option to uninstall some of them.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 performance
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was able to handle almost everything we threw at it, and we had no complaints with the octa-core processor. It handled heavy games with ease and we had fun playing Asphalt 8 and Dead Trigger 2 on the device. We were able to use the Redmi Note 4 over the course of a few weeks, and never felt that we needed a more powerful processor. Multitasking on the Redmi Note 4 was quick, and apps launched without delay. Our test unit with 4GB of RAM had enough free memory at any given time. We noticed that 1.8GB of RAM was in use at all times, leaving us sceptical about the experience we would have had using the variant with only 2GB of RAM, which could be more popular due to its lower price.

The Redmi Note 4 is very good for media playback thanks to the excellent IPS display, and it supports high-resolution video files, including 4K ones. The speaker at the bottom is decently loud and we didn't notice any distortion at higher volumes. Xiaomi didn't send us a headset with this unit, so we tested audio quality through our own headphones, and were happy enough.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 managed an impressive 65,560 in AnTuTu and 42,690 in Quadrant, which is higher than what we got from the recently launched Lenovo P2 (Review) and Asus ZenFone 3 (Review) both featuring the same Snapdragon 625 processor. GPU performance was also good, and we saw a healthy 28fps in the T-Rex test in GFXbench, and 9,029 points in 3D Mark Ice Storm Extreme. These scores are along the lines of what we expected, but it is worth pointing out that the Redmi Note 3 (Review) with a Snapdragon 650 processor achieved better overall scores.

There are plenty of modes to choose from in the camera app, including Beautify, Panorama, and Manual. In the Scenes mode, the device lets users choose from loads of options including portrait, landscape, sports, night, night portrait, beach, snow, sunset, fireworks, backlight, and flowers.You can also apply filters while taking photos, which is nice. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 camera app can record videos at full-HD (1080p) resolution and quality is pretty good. Selfies taken with the Redmi Note 4 had good colours and details, but again, those taken in well-lit situations were better than those taken in low light.



The 13-megapixel rear camera of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 can take some decent landscape shots in well-lit as well as low-light situations. Macro shots also appear good, with proper colour accuracy and details. The PDAF feature lets the camera focus on subjects quickly. Low-light shots have good detail, though on zooming in one can see the graininess. The Redmi Note 4 was also able to take good photos of moving subjects.

Xiaomi has focused its efforts on improving camera quality on the Redmi Note 4 after complaints about camera quality on last year's model, and it's clear that things are better. However, we'd still like to see low-light performance improved.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4's 4100mAh non-removable battery lasted for 15 hours and 10 minutes in our continuous video playback test, which is impressive for a battery of this capacity. In real-world use, the phone was able to last for up to two days. With heavy usage, we got to nearly a day and a half without needing to use any of the battery saving modes. We were especially impressed with the handset's ability to latch on to weak cellular as well as Wi-Fi network signals. We were not provided with a retail box with all accessories for our review, and so we can't comment on how long it would take to charge with the bundled changer. However, there is no support for quick charging, which would have been a welcome feature at this price level.

Verdict
The Redmi Note 4 is a great package with the only downsides being its hybrid SIM slot, lack of quick charging, and excess of preloaded apps. We think that the Redmi Note 4 will provide tough competition to other smartphones in its price segment, and even some priced a little higher. It scores very well in terms of design, battery life, and performance. Notably, the announcement is another feather in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4’s cap in India. Xiaomi had back in January revealed that the Redmi Note 4’s first sale had seen 250,000 units being sold out in 10 minutes. To recall, the smartphone 4 is sold via Flipkart and Mi.com and available without pre-registrations – however, the smartphone only becomes available to buy on certain sale days. 30 GB Free 4G Data: Airtel's Latest Surprise Offer For Subscribers

The amount of free data being offered varies for different customers and is capped at a maximum of 10 GB per month, the Airtel customer care executive said.

Bharti Airtel is offering up to 30 GB of free 4G data under a special scheme. Under Airtel's ‘Surprise Offer’, its postpaid customers will get a maximum of 10 GB of data per month, for the next three months. Bharti Airtel is offering up to 30 GB mobile data free of cost to celebrate its rating as India's fastest mobile network by Ookla, a customer care executive said, adding that the scheme is being offered to postpaid subscribers.

Airtel's postpaid customers can subscribe to the surprise scheme through the MyAirtel app. Airtel in a statement said the recognition by Ookla, a global leader in broadband testing and web-based network diagnostic applications, cements its position as India's best smartphone network that consistently enables a superior online experience for customers. 

Analysts say Reliance Jio's aggressive entry in the Indian market is forcing incumbent operators to announce attractive schemes to counter competition. Reliance Jio had in February announced its decision to charge for its services from April 1. Vodafone had last year offered 10 GB 4G mobile services at the price of its 1 GB plan with various riders. Vodafone customers with a new smartphone were offered an additional 9 GB of 4G mobile broadband usage on a recharge for the 1 GB plan.

Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel has announced the launch of its 4G services in Jammu & Kashmir. "With this, Airtel 4G services are now available in all 22 telecom circles of the country,” the operator added.

Analysts said that the Uttar Pradesh state election results will give a boost to the government's reform agenda. "BJP's emphatic victory in the politically crucial state of UP would embolden the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in aggressively expediting key structural economic reforms," said Ajay Bodke, head of portfolio management services at financial firm Prabhudas Lilladher in Mumbai.



2) Analysts see further upside in the market. TS Harihar, chief executive of HRBV Client Solutions Private Ltd, says the election verdict will move Nifty into a new range of 9100-9500.

3) Another global brokerage CLSA sees Nifty rising to 10,350-12,000 levels over the medium term if it breaks the major technical resistance of 9.191.

4) Bank of America Merrill Lynch expects the government to increase infrastructure spending in Uttar Pradesh and sees banks, cement, and consumption stocks to be a major beneficiary of higher government spending.

5) Beyond the election results, the market will be eying the current Budget session of Parliament and the progress of key GST Bills, says market expert Ajay Bagga. The government is planning to roll out the new tax regime from July.

6) On the global front, the US Federal Reserve's stance on interest rate, Trump administration's policies and French election results would be keenly eyed, Mr Bagga added. 

7) The US Fed rate-setting panel meets on March 14-15 to decide on interest rate. The US central bank is widely expected to increase interest rate in wake of strong economic recovery in the world's biggest economy. Though a Fed rate hike is factored in, a hawkish commentary from the US Federal Reserve could trigger volatility, especially in emerging markets, say analysts.

8) The Sensex and Nifty have gained over 10 per cent so far this year. Better-than-expected third-quarter GDP numbers and earnings from India corporates, a supportive Budget and strong global markets have also lifted the sentiment on Dalal Street.

9) Strong inflows from domestic and foreign investors have also supported the market while a steady rupee has further lifted the sentiment. 

10) Domestic institutional investors have bought shares worth over Rs. 40,000 crore in the past six months. Foreign institutional buyers
have also started nibbling at Indian equities, buying shares worth Rs. 10,485 crore in February.
